About

Welcome to my site! I am thrilled you stopped by and hope you will find this site to full of amazing resources to help, encourage, and inspire you on your successful journey of not just losing weight but becoming and healthier YOU!

My name is Holly and I am a 30-something mother of 3 children (my son is 9 yrs old, and my twin daughters are 7 yrs old).  I don’t know that I would say I have struggled with my weight all my life, but I have never been the skinny girl. Since giving birth to my son (9 + years ago) I have struggled with obesity. I gained 80 lbs with my son (oops!). After giving birth I was able to lose about 40 of the 80 I had gained. Once I got pregnant with my twin girls I gained a total of 20 lbs with them, which really was not bad considering I was carrying twins :). I did manage to lose 15 of the 20 I gained with them. But then life happened and REALLY happened for us. As a result of all the major stresses in life I apparently turned to food, which I had not ever done before. And I went from about 220 lbs to over 290 lbs.

In November of 2006 I received the lap-band, I did fairly well in the beginning and went from 290 to 230! After getting to 230 I learned to eat around the band, in many ways. I also learned that eating ice cream and many other sugary items were VERY easy to do on the band. And slowly became addicted to sugar. The band has certainly kept me from over eating (other than dessert type items), therefore since the summer of 2006 to today (summer 2011), I went from 230 slowly up to 266 lbs.

I’m not sure when, where, or how but in the past several months a light bulb went off in my head. And a huge light bulb! I just came to the decision that I was no longer going to be like this.  I mostly believe it also had to do with the fact that I was also recently diagnosed with an auto-immune disease, and that for the past two years have been very sick! I have finally been under the right medical care and have the disease under control, but I know that by getting this weight off I will continue to have an upper hand on fighting this disease and remaining healthy.

I am following the Weight Watchers program and working out 4-5 times a week, and what a difference both have made. As of today (as I write this section of my site) I have lost 16 lbs, and am continuing to push on. This is NOT a diet for me, this is truly a lifestyle change and making better choices not just for myself but for my family.

I don’t want my kids to struggle with weight or health issues, but I have also learned that I can’t just wish and pray that upon them, I am their role model. They will essentially emulate me and my choices, therefore I need to be that positive role model in their lives. As a parent I also want my kids to do and be better than me, but now I have come to the decision that why can’t I have the same choices and dreams and desires I want for my kids? Well, I can!

God tells us in the Bible that we are more than conquerors we are Victorious! So, I am claiming that! And I don’t believe that I am victorious – I AM Victorious! Romans 9:31-39
